Our Employee Spotlight series is designed to welcome and highlight the many talented individuals who bring their special skills to Elite Converting. 

Meet Mario…but we know him as MacGyver. Mario started working at Elite Converting 31 years ago. With years of experience in casting and machine technology, Mario brings a mix of technical expertise combined with operational curiosity, a fabulous combination for any employer. Why do we call him MacGyver, you ask? Just like his TV doppelgänger, our MacGyver loves a good converting challenge – he “thwarts the enemy with vast scientific knowledge and sometimes with little more than a paper clip and the duct tape in his pocket.” HA!

Mario is grateful when he is challenged to provide new solutions for customer applications and projects  His free time is spent with his family or tinkering with cars. Forever MacGyver. 

When asked what advice he might give his younger self, he said simply, “Study more and work to be a good person.” Hope all the young people out there are listening to the simple, wise advice.

In celebration of Mario Chavez and his continued inventive contributions to our Elite Converting team, we will be contributing $1,000 to his favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
