Our Employee Spotlight series aims to highlight the many talented individuals who work at Elite Tape.

Gwen Smith joined our Elite team last September to help us address our growing shipping challenges.  More orders shipping daily means committing more expertise and focus to the process.  With an early career focused on legislative constituent support, a second career in non-profit fundraising, and a third career raising three children, Gwen came to Elite Tape with great customer service, fiscal and negotiation skills – a perfect trio when focusing on finding the best shipping method for our customer orders!

Knowing that she brought sharp business skills to the team but had much to learn about tape, Gwen valued our dynamic team of hardworking people.  “My co-workers are always willing to pitch in and help each other, which makes each day move smoothly and makes it fun!”

In her free time Gwen enjoys gardening and baking.  We, her team, are more than happy to test her newest baking recipes!😋 Evenings and weekends are spent chauffeuring her children to and from activities and serving as their greatest fan at sporting events.

When asked what advice she might offer her younger self, she said “Be open to exploring new opportunities.  The world is there for you to discover.  Don’t let curiosity or learning end with graduation. Try new things, make mistakes, travel and grow!”  Elite Tape is definitely Gwen’s newest adventure.

Gwen and her husband, Joe, believe in giving back and have been lifelong volunteers and fundraisers for charities that mean a lot to them.  The charity that currently earns most of their time is St. Peter School in Geneva which all of their children have attended.  As former PTO president and fundraising chair, Gwen’s charity of choice holds a special place in her heart.

In celebration of Gwen Smith and her commitment to our company and its continuing growth, Elite Tape will be contributing $1,000 to ST. PETER SCHOOL in Gwen’s name.
