Our Employee Spotlight series aims to highlight the many talented individuals who work at Elite Tape.
After spending many years developing his machine operating skills, the opportunity to help build a business from the ground up was appealing to Baldemar Vargas. When his longtime supervisor Manuel presented him with the opportunity to be the first production team employee at
Elite Tape in 2014, he jumped at it…and never looked back. With a smile that lights up his face, Baldemar, fondly called Calamari by his coworkers, loves to joke with everyone. “I like learning new tricks that relate to my job. Loading and unloading trucks is one of my favorite parts of the day.”
Having worked at other companies, Baldemar knows the value of a strong work environment, “I love how John manages this business and how well he
treats us as employees. That’s outstanding. I am very grateful.”
In his free time, Baldemar enjoys fixing up his home, spending time in family discussions and working weekends at the flea market.
When asked what advice he might give his younger self, he says firmly: “Behave yourself! Work hard!” This advice from the man who marks every Friday at work with multiple “yodels and
hyena calls” celebrating Spanish music Friday and the upcoming weekend. HA!
Baldemar is a man with a caring heart and a love for family, therefore it is no surprise to us that his favorite charity supports children and families in need.
In celebration of Onesimo Vargas and his numerous, continuing contributions to our company, Elite Tape will be contributing $1,000 to his
favorite charity ST. JUDE CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL.
