Our Employee Spotlight series aims to highlight the many talented individuals who
work at Elite Tape.
As Elite Tape was growing and looking for a new machine operator for our production team in late 2019, Michael Whitfield was a great find. Michael had just spent some time working on his degree at Ball State University (alma mater of David Letterman, as he reminds us) and working part time at a manufacturing plant.
Michael has been happy with his
decision to join the Elite Tape team, “I think my favorite part is the culture here. There is a feeling of comfort that you don’t always get with a job.”
In his free time Michael enjoys hanging with family and friends, attending concerts and sporting events. His favorite team is Notre Dame and he tries to attend as many football games as he can each season. Go Irish!
When
asked what advice he tries to live by, he immediately said, “Try not to take everything so seriously. The little things are not as big as they seem in real time.” Very wise for a young man.
Michael comes from a large, close-knit family and they mean the world to him. Therefore, it is no surprise that his favorite charity provides research and support for people who live with Type 1 diabetes (T1D), including two of his
cousins.
In celebration of Michael Whitfield and his continuous contributions to our company, Elite Tape will be contributing $1,000 to his favorite charity JDRF, the Juvenile Diabetes
Research Foundation.
